Well, after an exhaustive search of the Internet, website after website, I finally decided on the one that would be most helpful. Of course, I found many that offered great ideas on technology and how to integrate it into classroom. I have book marked so many websites this week that it has taken me all day to go through them again so I could complete my assignment. One of the sites I finally chose to evaluate is Internet4Classrooms. This website was set up in the year 2000 by Bill Byles and Susan Brooks as a way to help others find Internet resources they can use in the classroom.
This website has a lot to offer teachers from K-12, but what I was looking for when I came across this site was an online tutorial. I4C, as the like to refer to it, has a great set of online tutorials that can be used by teacher and/or student. From basic to advance, these tutorials are informative and easily assessable. The website also offers a large selection of links for K-12 teachers. The links are broken down in several different ways to offer the easiest possible search. There is also a site-specific search feature.
One thing I found on several other websites that I4C did not offer was an interactive forum. I find the use of a forum, where questions, opinions, and suggestions can be posted and commented on, can be a very useful tool. Forums allow collaboration among people across the globe.
I feel this website has a lot to offer educators. The links have been well maintained which makes the site easy to navigate. There is definitely something for everyone. This website will help bring educators into the 21st Century.
